You can make a tax-deductable donation to the Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville at any time. For your convenience, there are several ways to donate: you can donate online with a credit card through the Library’s PayPal Link or you can mail or bring a check or cash to the Library. If you would like to be recognized, please provide your contact information.
You can also purchase a canvas bag at the circulation desk which features the CLD&J logo on the front for $10. The price of the bag includes a donation to the Library and you can use it to carry your borrowed items or items you purchase from the book sale.
Whenever you make a donation to the Library it really makes a difference. Giving to the Library directly empowers our staff to curate and create programs, services, and collections that we know our patrons want. Last year, the Library’s budget included less than $20 per program to spend on all 609 programs it offered for free to the community. Your contributions directly increase the amount and quality of programs, services, and collections that the Library can offer.
We also serve the needs of our patrons by identifying areas where service is lacking and step in to provide it. In 2020, CLD&J launched several new initiatives including virtual programming such as storytimes; Learn with your Librarian series featuring the Library’s digital resources; Music Series concerts, services including a Virtual Meeting Room (funded by the Friends of the Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville); 3D-Printing On-Demand; Personalized Patio Pick-Up; ArtStory Kits which offered families a chance to engage with art ideas and activities at home; ongoing StoryWalks on the Library’s property to offer safe, outdoor reading opportunities; and collections like our new Wifi Hotspots to provide internet access in new places, Bookpacks which include a printed book and the audio version, adaptive gaming controllers, and so much more.
These initiatives were funded with the money raised through the Annual Campaign and generous gifts from more than 200 individual donors and several DeWitt-based businesses. You support us so we can support the community and we couldn’t do it without you.
